Lisca Bianca è il progetto sociale che va per mare. Di che cosa si tratta? Di un progetto che mira a favorire l’inclusione sociale e lavorativa di giovani svantaggiati, attraverso il restauro di una delle imbarcazioni simbolo della cultura mediterranea nel mondo, appunto “Lisca Bianca”.
Sergio Albeggiani è l’uomo dal quale è nata 35 anni fa tutta la storia. Lui e sua moglie costruirono Lisca Bianca, un ketch di 11 metri in legno, per fare il giro del mondo. Partirono nel 1984, tre anni in mare, dall’Atlantico al Pacifico, fino alle coste australiane, per poi tornare in Sicilia dal Mar Rosso, attraverso il Canale di Suez. Ma nessuno dei due poteva immaginare che quella barca, dopo due decenni di abbandono, sarebbe nuovamente diventata l’ambasciatrice del turismo nel Mediterraneo, ma anche un simbolo di riscatto sociale.
Il sogno di restaurare la barca è partito nel 2013 dalla tenacia di Elio Lo Cascio (Presidente dell’Associazione Lisca Bianca) e Francesco Belvisi (designer e progettista navale) dopo averla trovata in un cantiere della periferia di Palermo. Senza risorse, ma con molta motivazione, i due, con il supporto della famiglia Albeggiani, diedero vita al progetto “Navigare nell’inclusione”, che ha coinvolto nel restauro i ragazzi dell’Istituto Penale per i Minorenni di Palermo, ex tossicodipendenti della Comunità di recupero Sant’Onofrio di Trabia, infortunati segnalati da INAIL e giovani migranti rifugiati.
Il progetto è nato dall’idea di integrare l’area della disabilità con quella del disagio giovanile strutturando forme di sperimentazione in cui solidarietà, ambiente, innovazione, sviluppo economico, occupazione, reinvenzione dei saperi possano dar luogo a “cantieri” e “officine” collaborative.
Lisca Bianca dunque concepisce la vela non solo come attività di svago e di divertimento, ma anche per le valenze educative che possiede nel prevenire e contrastare le diverse forme di disagio e di devianza giovanile, oltre che da un punto di vista prettamente terapeutico. Navigare è infatti un modo per imparare a stare insieme, per riscoprire valori fondamentali come la collaborazione, l’aiuto reciproco, la solidarietà, il senso di responsabilità verso gli altri e l’amore per la natura.
E con Lisca Bianca tutto questo diventa possibile, poiché è in grado di dare ai giovani in difficoltà una nuova prospettiva attraverso un programma di formazione lavorativa che abbina saperi tradizionali e nuove tecnologie, navigando a 360 gradi nell’inclusione!
